Ashley Benson in Spring Breakers 2? James Franco Says It Might Happen!
Back in March, Pretty Little Liars’ Ashley Benson (Hanna) hit the big screen alongside stars like James Franco and Selena Gomez in the edgy indie flick, Spring Breakers. The boundary-pushing film got a ton of buzz, and now star James Franco is hinting that a sequel might just be in the works! “There actually is talk,” James told MTV News of a potential second movie. But don’t bet on anything for sure just yet. James made sure to note that discussions are still in the very early stages, so an actual sequel might not end up ever coming to be. For one, the film’s director, Harmony Korine, might not return to make the sequel. “I don’t think Harmony necessarily wants to do Spring Breakers 2. He’s not the one who’s been talking about it,” he says. What’s more, the film might end up being a prequel, instead. If that’s the case, it would likely focus more on James’ character, Alien, and his life before Ashley’s Brit and her spring break pals ever met him. But if there is a sequel, we have to believe that Ashley would be a big part of it. As for James, he’s considered stepping in as director of the film. “They’ve asked me if I was interested,” he said. But just to clarify: “I don’t know. I don’t know. It really is just talk.” Would you want to see Ashley reprise her role as Brit in a Spring Breakers sequel?
